Juliet Villegas
I am the tre of FA17. I am Cuban and am from Miami, FL. I graduated from Hopkins with a degree in Neuroscience with minors in Psychology and Spanish for the Professions. Now I’m starting to work at the University of Michigan’s Medical School as a Research Assistant for the Pediatric Ambulatory Unit working on helping obese adolescents make healthier choices through app technology.
Taliah West
I am the ace of my line and crossed in the Fall of 2015. I am from San Jose, California of black and Cherokee Nation descent. I majored in Public Health during my time at Hopkins and participated in organizations like Temps d’ Afrique, the Refugee Youth Project, AIDS Alliance, Multicultural Greek Council and Multicultural Student Volunteers. I studied abroad in Geneva, Switzerland in the Fall of 2017 and interned at the International Organization for Migration. During my last year at Hopkins, I also interned at the Youth Empowered Society Drop-In Center to provide assistance for youth experiencing homelessness in Baltimore.
Leslie Peralta
I’m the ace of the founding line of SP14. I’m from Brentwood, Long Island and am of Dominican descent. After graduating from Hopkins with a biology degree, I earned my Masters of Biomedical Sciences at the Rutgers Graduate School and worked at the New Jersey Medical School Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Molecular Genetics. During the 2017-18 academic year I served as an AmeriCorps member in Newark, NJ at Great Oaks Legacy Charter High School. I now attend Stony Brook School of Medicine to pursue my MD degree as a W. Burghardt Turner Fellow.
Kimberly Iboy
Hey! I’m Kim, the tre and tail of the Spring 2014 founding line. Born and raised in New York City, with Guatemalan roots, I studied within the departments of Latin American Studies, Psychology and Visual Arts during my time at Hopkins. I served within various campus organizations and worked for the Department of Sports Medicine and the Office of Multicultural Affairs. I’m currently located in New York City, working at The Brass Owl and taking classes at Hunter College.
Eileen Ramirez
I am the tre of SP17. I am Dominican and from New Jersey. I graduated in 2018 with a degree in Neuroscience and will be attending Rutgers School of Graduate Studies to earn a Master of Biomedical Sciences with a Medical Scholars track. I hope to finish the program in a year and go on to medical school after.
Natalie Hernandez
I am the tail of FA15 (#5). I am originally from Miami, FL and am of Puerto Rican descent. I graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s in public health and natural sciences. Since graduating, I have worked as a Health Screener and a full-time Research Support Specialist at the University of Miami Department of Gynecologic Oncology. I now attend the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry,
Arlene Bigirimana
I am the deuce of the founding line of SP14. I am from Clifton, New Jersey and am of Burundian descent. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health Studies and a minor in Spanish language and Hispanic Culture, I received my Master of Science in Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health in May 2018. During my 2nd year I was required to complete a field placement during which I worked as a science and policy research associate for the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD) in Washington, D.C. I'm still with IARD and have been afforded more opportunities to work with IARD’s clients more directly and have traveled for work.
